Feltwell Elementary Partners With RAF Lakenheath Clinic to Host Community Flu Drive
FELTWELL, England — On Nov. 19, 2025, Feltwell Elementary School partnered with the RAF Lakenheath Immunization Clinic to host a convenient flu vaccination event for the RAF Feltwell community. The clinic was organized by school nurse Holly Low and registrar Ashlyn Potenzone, working closely with MSgt. Anthony Potenzone and Immunization Clinic Flight Chief Demirhan Atalay of the 48th Medical Group at RAF Lakenheath.
The event supported families and service members who live and work on RAF Feltwell, as well as the two Tri-Base schools on the installation, which together serve more than 750 students. By offering vaccinations locally, the team reduced travel requirements and provided an accessible opportunity for community members to protect their health during flu season. The event also helped ease patient volume at the RAF Lakenheath Immunization Clinic, improving access to care.
“It was quick and much appreciated as making it to RAFL is not easy for us,” one Feltwell Elementary parent said.
The Community Superintendent’s Office provided space for the clinic, creating an efficient and welcoming environment for participants. On the day of the event, Sgt. McClure from Flight Medicine and Maj. Moore from the Pediatrics Clinic administered vaccines, ensuring every participant — from adults to the youngest community members — received professional, compassionate care.
Thanks to the partnership, an estimated 250 individuals received flu shots without leaving the base. The initiative reflects the strong commitment of DoDEA schools and military medical teams to support health and readiness within the community. Feltwell Elementary and the 48th Medical Group demonstrated how collaboration can positively impact families stationed overseas.
“We hope to continue to collaborate with the 48th Medical Group to meet the healthcare needs of this community,” Low said. “We are already reviewing this year’s flu line together to identify successes and challenges as a team, which will help us create an even better experience for future initiatives.”
