Code Breakers at Feltwell: Student Council Cracks the Code on Fun and Learning

Students at Feltwell Elementary, located on RAF Feltwell, took the lead in designing an unforgettable escape room experience.
Created by the 4th and 5th grade Student Council, the event challenged teams to think fast, work together, and unlock their way through a maze of puzzles and clues.
With guidance from speech-language pathologist and resident codebreaker Erica Falconbury, and support from Student Council sponsors Shea Harrell and Cassandra Guerin, student leaders built an interactive escape room made up of three themed challenge areas. Each space blended subjects such as spelling, math, science and geography into hands-on puzzles that encouraged participants to collaborate and use critical thinking skills.
Teams had to crack the code in one area to move to the next, racing against the clock to escape all three.

“We worked on it once a week for a few months. It was a lot of fun!” said Colton, a 4th grade Student Council member. “My favorite part was setting everything up and putting the locks on.”
Falconbury said, “I enjoy sharing my passion for escape rooms each year. I am consistently impressed by the kindness of our Feltwell students and their strong communication skills.”
Evan, 5th grade student and member of the winning team said, “I feel amazingly awesome! I really liked the locks and riddles."
"Feltwell’s Student Council has exemplified strong leadership, empowering both teachers and students to utilize their talents and skills in fostering positive change at FES. These efforts continue to contribute to the growth and vitality of our close-knit school community." Mrs. Guerin, Student Council Co-Sponsor
The event was a hit, bringing the Feltwell community together in a celebration of learning, leadership, and a little bit of mystery.
