DoDEA Europe is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MoMC) across 64 schools in 8 countries, shining a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and courage of military-connected children. As you are aware, there is still a great deal of uncertainty about the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2024. The current appropriations provided by Congress will expire on September 30, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (EST). Without enactment of an appropriations bill or a continuing resolution, all Federal agencies, including DoDEA, will be required to execute contingency plans for a lapse in appropriations (commonly referred to as a 'shutdown') beginning Sunday, October 1, 2023.

And just like that, we are two weeks into school year 2023-2024! Our 1st-5th grade students started school last Monday, August 21st while our kindergarten students started this Monday, August 28th. Our youngest learners, Sure Start students, will be starting school on Thursday, September 7th.
