Principal's Corner

Happy Monday, dearest hedgehog community!

We have two weeks left of the third quarter. Students are progressing nicely based on DoDEA standards. We see ample evidence of implementation of our school-wide strategies for our literacy and math objectives which are 1) daily practice of readable writing; 2) differentiated instruction; 3) success criteria; and 3) content-specific vocabulary. We are excited to see how our students will perform in the upcoming summative assessments.

Parents received a friendly reminder through the Parent Portal that the DoDEA Stakeholder Feedback Survey (SFS) is currently open until March 13, 2026. We encourage you to take a few moments to share your feedback. The Stakeholder Feedback Survey gives parents and students the opportunity to private confidential input on areas such as academic instruction, school safety, sense of belonging, and overall satisfaction. Your feedback helps schools, districts, and regions better understand what is working well and where improvements can be made to support student success.

If you are dropping off your students in the morning, please do not park in the fire lanes. We have ample parent parking by the bus parking area. Do not drop them off before 8:10 AM. We have no staff members on morning duty until 8:10 AM. If you are waiting for your students to finish after-school clubs, please wait for them by the front office.

Visitors to our school must sign in at the front office before proceeding to classrooms or other specified locations. Please help us ensure the safety and security of our students and facilities.

Parents are invited to the next School Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday, March 12th at 3:15pm at the conference room. We also have the 2nd Cup of Coffee Meeting with DoDEA Administrators on Wednesday, March 18th at 9:00am at RAF Lakenheath Chapel. These two avenues are opportunities for parents to connect with school administrators and other parents to help the school by providing feedback and input on school programs and policies.

The upcoming events are as follows:

School Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting on Thursday, March 12th at 3:15pm

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Testing with 4th grade, Thursday, March 12th

CCR Professional Learning Day, Friday, March 13th - NO SCHOOL for students

DoDEA Europe LEGO League Robotics Competition on March 17th

2nd Cup of Coffee Meeting with DoDEA Administrators on Wednesday, March 18th at 9:00 am at RAF Lakenheath Chapel.

Let's have a great hedgehog month!

Respectfully,

Dr. Bernadette Schlueter, Principal
